Golf

Within a 30 mile radius of Madeline’s you'll find some of Ireland’s finest golf courses.
Top of the league would be Druid's Glen Golf Course, which hosted the Murphy’s Irish Open from 1996 till 1999. The natural environs which feature waterfalls, lakes and wooded terrain have been sculpted into a golf course that outmatches any other in terms of sheer aesthetics.
The European Golf Club is on traditional links terrain, 200 acres of rugged tumbling sand-dune land. The links has been designed as a strong test of golf, but still be enjoyable for golfers of all standards.
Close by is Woodenbridge Golf Course, set in the vale of Avoca, it is considered in the golfing world as one of County Wicklow's best-kept secrets.
Powerscourt Golf Course located in the grounds of the historic Powerscourt Estate, it is a scenic parkland course, designed to championship level.
Rathsallagh Golf Course, set in 252 acres of mature rolling parkland, is designed by O’Connor Jnr. and McEvoy and the course has been lavishly praised by the Golfing Press for it’s excellent layout and golfing greens
Coolattin Golf Club is the golf club closest to the house and well worth a visit. Golf has been played here since the early part of the century, with the Earl Fitzwilliam spending many a vacation at Coolattin. The large oak trees that are a special feature of the course provide an exciting challenge for both the high and low handicap.
Tulfarris Golf Club overlooking spectacular Poulaphouca and Blessington Lakes, is expected to be ranked as one of Ireland's top inland courses within a few years.
Even though it’s Wicklow youngest course, Glen-o-the-Downs Golf Course is already gathering a huge following and has been admired by many professional golfers.
Mount Wolseley in Tullow is another excellent golf course, just a short journey away.
